9. Repair History

NO DAMAGE HISTORY. 3 primary maintenance facilities since new. No salt water area ownership. Present Midwest Owner since 8/20/2004. On April 29, 2017 the aircraft experienced an inflight failure of a piston pin cap and subsequent precautionary landing. The Engine was removed and sent to Poplar Grove Airmotive for teardown and repair which amounted to 90% of that required for an Overhaul. In fact it was repaired to Factory Standards. In addition to a new cam (complies with latest proposed AD), it received valves, guides, bearings, lifters, rings, piston pins, cam gear, starter adapter parts, rebuilt oil cooler, overhauled governor, overhauled prop, and a host of other engine parts. The engine was given 2 hrs. of test cell runs. In other words, this is not a typical 1,025 hour engine. Poplar Grove is one of the top engine shops in the Country and this engine should provide years of trouble free service.

Interior:

Interior has Club Seating with an Executive Writing Desk. Original Beech Interior complements the Exterior with legendary quality. Tan Leather Seats with Desert motif patterned Fabric inserts. Seats are in above average condition with no serious wear nor tearing. Sidewalls are a light chocolate Suede in above average condition with light water staining at bottom of cockpit door. Crème Headliner is in average condition. Carpet is Dark Brown and was installed 11-7-03. Carpet rates a 8.5. The Instrument Panel is painted sandstone and woodgrain. Panel shows very little UV damage and rates . Rubber sidewall armrests are showing wear. Refinishing of these would bump the overall condition of the Interior from a “7.5” to an “8” on a 10 scale.

Exterior:

New 11-7-03 Polyurethane. Overall Matterhorn White with Royal Blue and Castle Tan accent strips. Paint is in well above average condition in that it retains 90% of its gloss and has very little erosion or chipping. Paint rates 8.5 on scale of 10. Aircraft side windows rate 7.5 on scale of 10 due to some beginning hazing. Windshield is clear with light brown tint and rates 9 on scale of 10. Nose gear has minor tow bar chips. Wing tip Strobe lens are both clear with one minor stop drilled crack on left side. Doors fit properly and secure. No hangar rash, wrinkling nor hail evident anywhere. Overall condition of Exterior is “8.5”.

Summary:

This is a clean, no damage A-36 with a terrific history. It is turn key and ready to provide years of service.
